Baselworld 2013 started on April 25th. It's a watch and jewellery show where companies show their upcoming products off..
So I was expecting to see a lot of upcoming G-Shock's shown, I was wrong..
The entry prices:
1 Day Pass: CHF 60 (USD $64)
8 Day Pass: CHF 150 (USD $160)
You would think that once you pay that much you get to check out the booths inside.. WRONG!
You need an Invite to get into the Casio booth! without an invite all you get to see is this wall:
Here is a tweet I saw on twitter:
Got an Invite? cool! you go in, and all you get to see is stuff that is already out or will be out in a few weeks.. nothing interesting at all!!
There is some new Aviator models on display, press release is here: http://www.casio-intl.com/asia-mea/en/news/2013/gw-a1100/
Also there is a new MRG Model:
MRG-8130 highlighted in 18K gold. 50 pieces at 630,000 JPY, So it's out of reach for most G-Shock fans.
That's all there is for ppl with Invites..
Then there is the section meant for a special group of ppl.. who get to see real upcoming stuff! I am not sure what the requirements are to get in here.. at 1st I thought that it was for Dealers, but then I've seen other ppl who are not dealers get in as well.. some of them have taken pics but are not "allowed" to share it..
All we got is this leaked pic of a concept model called the Rangeman:
We have no info on this model yet..
So I have spent the whole week searching everywhere for info, with no luck. Regular ppl can't get into the booth, ppl with invites get to see stuff that is already out, and the exclusive group are not allowed to share anything..
Meanwhile all the big luxury brands are sharing all their upcoming stuff.. I don't get why Casio is acting so secretive...
Are they worried that ppl who make fake G-Shock's will copy their colour combinations??
Fake G-Shock's have more colour options than the real ones! lol
